Document Management System for the Saudi Embassies

The Saudi Cables contains scans, emails, pdfs and other documents which were organized in a Document Management Software (DMS) controlled by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs. All documents are stored in named, non-hierarchical folders; folders and documents are assigned to and managed by individual users. The following views facilitate the navigaton through the DMS structure:

FOLDERS – This list shows all named folders, the number of documents contained in that folder, the dates of creation/last modification and the associated folder owner. If you select a folder, all contained documents are shown in a chronological list. Select a document to view its content. If you select the folder owner, you get a list of all documents managed by that user sorted chronologically (see USER).
Note: The DMS does not enforce a name for the folder, so many folders have “Blank Subject” as their title.

USERS – This is a list of all users authorized for the DMS and the number of documents managed by them. You can select a user to see all other documents managed by the selected user in a chronological list. Select a document to view its content. For each document, you can also navigate to the folder that contains the document to see other (related) documents in the same folder (see FOLDER).
